Scene near Edenbridge.9x12 Oils on board.

I did this painting from an old Watercolour one

I did some years ago to see if I could do a better

job of it, but it didn`t work out that way.

I think the Watercolour painting is better.

You can`t win them all can you?.

I tried to do this Portrait of an Artist friend from a sketch

that I did of him,but I completed it from a Photograph.

Bob is a fine Portrait Painter and Artist of all media,

and I think he isn`t recognised enough.

Woods at Keston Ponds.9x12 Oils on canvas board

Woods at keston was done with our large club members present.

There was about six of us doing the same subject, and the conversation

between us was great and funny. But what intrigued me was the

different way that everyone did their painting,as I said,it was brilliant.

Cottage in the Lake district. 6x8, Oils on prepared board.

This Painting was done for a friend. He went to the lake district for a Holiday,

saw this Cottage, and took a Photo. So he asked me if i would do a painting

of it for him.I was happy to oblige. I only use a Photograph for reference.

I don`t completely copy it. It is always a good idea to completely copy a

Photo for practice only. copy it exactly as you can. It will help you no end.

It`s of two of my artist friends sketching at Hastings.

A Place of rest.9x12 on prepared Board

I did this Painting yesterday morning. I know it isn’t the usual run of paintings, but I have been wanting to do this subject for a long time and finally managed it.

It only took me about one hour. It was a bit difficult because I had my pochade on my knees, sitting on a very small stool, on a small path, because of all the other graves. I didn’t want to sit on sacred ground.

Painting of them,so I took a Photo,and seeing the
Burger King Sign,I included that as well.
By the way,the exhibition was for "The Royal society of Marine Artists",and what brilliant Painters they
