Mannon at Pin Mill. 12x17, Oils on board.

This painting I did some time ago now,I painted

it for a friend. I had done a sketch of it, also the

usual photograph, incase. It was a day out with

the club Plein air`ing. It was a great successful

day. We also had lunch in a lovely Pub come

restaurant. This is the only time my Wife

Rosemary came with me.

Shoreham, Kent.9x12, Oils on board.

I went out to Shoreham in Kent on Wednesday.

I did one plein Air Sketch in Oils on a sheet of

oil canvas paper that comes in pad form.

I`ve never done this before but it was a

terrific experience. I simply rested the pad on

a fence and went mad with colour. I did this

painting from the sketch.

Landscape. 15x9, Oils on board.

This landscape is in the midlands somewhere.

I did it from an old photograph that I fished

out. I liked the buildings and all the clutter

that is around the buildings.

Self Portrait. 9x12, Oils on board.

I really do admire Portrait Painters. The ones

that I have done I have found to be very

difficult. And yet there are Artist`s that

don`t think twice about it, and just get

on with it without any difficulty at all.

I`m certainly not one of them.

Cottage at Ockley. 9x12, Oils on board.

A friend and I went to an Exhibition of another

friend. On the way back we stopped at a little

Village Green and found several subjects to

sketch,. This painting is from one of the

sketches. We also bought some sandwiches

and a coffee, sat in the car and munched away.

Great day.

Welsummer Cockerel. 8x6, Oils on board

No, I didn`t have to chase this Cockerel

to paint or to get a photo, I already had

a photo, thank god. I love the colours,

and the shape.

Cottage 1. 9x12, Oils on board.

I did this painting almost plein Air but not

completely, It started to rain. Well somebody

said that he thought the Cottage was sloping,

well it was, so was the subject so I left it as

it appeared to me.

Cherry Tree farm. 12x17, Oils on board.

I painted this farm some time ago, and did

it from a Sketch. I was with a friend who

has since past away. He was a fantastic

Watercolourist and Draughtsman. We

at our Art club surely miss him.

Another Boat scene. No excuses except that I

like painting them.

Sunday 9 August 2009

The ferry. 6x8 Oils on board.

This painting is of a young lady who`s job it

is to work the ferry in the Isle of White. she

took over from her father. I believe it has

always been in the family.

Dungeness Lighthouse. 9x12, Oils on board.

This is the second of Dungeness, and it is the

Lighthouse. There is still an Older Lighthouse

there, But I don`t know the story behind it.

There are some more of this Area that I have

got to paint before I go onto something else.

Friday 7 August 2009

Dungeness. 9x12 Oils on board.

Dungeness really looks like this. It looks

vast and open. We couldn`t find anyway

down to the Boats strangely enough.

Every tiny Road that looked as if it

would take us to them was barred

by a gate of some sorts. The funny

thing is that we split up after our

first painting. Two of us went further

up and the other three stayed for a

while but made arrangements to

meet up later. but doing that is

fatal. We lost each other and when

we got Home we found that the

other three went through the

gate and got locked in. HA!HA!.

Thursday 6 August 2009

Another lovely day. 9x12 Oils on board.

Another lovely Day was done basically on

an idea from an old photo and drastically

altered to suit my idea. I went to town

with it Impressionistically wise to suit

what I wanted.

Tuesday 4 August 2009

Rosemary.9x12, Oils on board.

There is no way that I could paint my wife

Rosemary while she posed for me, She will

not keep still for one second, so this is done

from a photograph, even then I only managed

this because she happened to look up.

Sunday 2 August 2009

Lovely Day. 9x12, Oils on board.

Although I`m not a Sailor, I would love to be

on this Boat. If there are any Sailors that look

at this Boat, please don`t pick on any

Technicalities that are wrong.
