  1. I love the atmosphere in this. Some more of your lovely warm greens and the church has a real presence which is supported by that great sky. Thanks for asking after my health. I'm over it all now, though my computer is very ill, so I can't post that often now. Good health also means a return to full time work - so less time to paint!!!
    Hope you've recovered fully too.
    Take care Vic.

  6. Hello my friend, as usual you produced another wonderful portrait of your lovely country side. I agree with Hilda, Your brushwork in the sky is brilliant as well has the color harmony throughout this painting. I wish you would share your watercolor sketch with us, I know it will be just as lovely. How did you do with the Face book create page. I was hoping to see you there. I will email you soon. Take care, and my regards to Rosemary.

  7. Joan, always a lovely comment from you, thank you. I`ve decided against that site on Face book my friend. It would be too much having two blogs. My Vic siggested it would take up too much time, as it does you. Thanks again for the comment Joan. All the best.

  11. St. John's Church is wonderful Victor. The the lighting is superb. I also think the shadow on the clouds adds real depth and compositional interest. The change in brushwork in this area energizes the whole scene. Lovely.

  12. Thank you very much Linda for your lovely comment. I did a Watercolour of the subject and a photograph to make sure, and did the painting from the sketch and the photo. I canot always do the painting solely from the sketch every time, so I always take a photo of it. All the best Linda.
