This painting of a village shop was started plein air but largely finished in my studio.
I was only going to paint Harry in it but the chap on the left stood still so that I could take the photo. that is why he is like a statue in the painting. As all old village buildings look as if they are falling down and this one is no exception. Chiddingstone.

Lovely painting Vic....in fact the chap standing still has worked perfectly, it's like he is inviting the viewer through the archway into the painting.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comment. It`s nice of you to say that the chap works in this painting. All the best Ann.
Vic.
Hi Vic, I agree with Ann he adds to the composition. Which I might add is very difficult. The building the textures and it also tells a story. Well done my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again for your nice comment. Yes, that chap was passing and he suddenly stopped. so i thought i would take him as well. There isn`t any movement in him, and i thought he seemed a bit static. All the best Joan.
