Snow Scene. 12x17 oils on board

I painted this From one of my many photographs. The scene is in Yorkshire England.
I was really struck with the Shadow over on the left and the brilliant white of the snow on the roof of the cottage.

Willy Lotts Cottage 1. 12x17, Oils on Board.

This is the second time I have painted this subject. I love it so much. The first time I painted it, I did post it, and told the story behind it, But I will briefly tell again. As Constable Fans know only too well that Willy Lott was a close friend of Constable, and he was an Artist as well. he gave Constable lessons in his early days as an Artist. This cottage was Willy Lotts Home, which was in the grounds of Golding Constable`s Mill. Golding was Constables Father. That little window facing the water is where I stayed for a week on a painting course. It was a brilliant tme for me, and holds good memories. They still hold courses there, and I would recommend a week there to anybody.

The last five.

Fresh Snow.

We have had a fresh fall of Snow. Apart from another five photos after this lot, that will be the end of Snow. Those who are interested in these Snow photos, must be feeling not only fed up but very cold looking at them. I haven` been able to paint due to the fact that my studio is too cold to be in there at the moment. It is too costly to have the heater on for too long.
