Another keston lakes painting. Painted from a Sketch that i did on site. Also Harry and I. While we were paintinmg, a young chap came out of the woods pushing a Barrow. he then loaded some stuff into a large van. He had no Shoese or socks on, and wearing shorts. I looked round and he was looking at my painting, so i said hello, he said Hi!, and that he loved my painting. I thought what a lovely young chap he was. also I admired him for wearing what ever he wanted to wear, and not bothered about what other people thought.

  1. So happy to see your post on my side bar. I would say the problem has been corrected. Your painting is beautiful my friend. Greens are so difficult to paint and you have done a wonderful job and capturing the natures true greens. Care to share your palette, I'm having some problems with mine.

    All the best to you,
    Joan

  3. Hi Joan.
Thank you so much for your great comment. We can`t keep away from that area can we? Off to a different are tomorrow. A Church and some Cottages. Of coiurs we have been there before but not for some time. Well my friend. Colours. I do get some lovely comments about my greens, but I think the secret is- Permanent Sap Green, mixed with Ultra and Yellow Ochre. For the darker areas I add burnt Sienna to that mix. For the real highlights, I add either Cad Yellow or Lemon Yellow. I hope that helps you my friend. I am still having trouble with my Blog. really it is the problem of not getting to grips with my filing. Oh! well, one of these days I`ll get around to it. All the best Joan.

  15. Hi John.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. I think landscapes are my favourite subjects. I do like Figures
in a landscape, but I don`t like to put them in most of the landscapes. Thanks again John and all the best.
