I painted this one From a photograph. Yorkshire area. I got the photo from Photos for Artist on the website. They are free. I think I need to practice a bit more on drawing Sheep I think.
It's lovely, sheep and all. It's impressionistic and the sheep look fine. Yes I remember last year you told me about the site Photos for Artist. I love your English country side . You take care my friend.
Hi Joan. Thank you for your nice comment my friend. I do have a feeling that I shouldn`t have posted it. I`m not happy with it. I know the sheep are not very well drawn, at least the ones on the left. You can`t win them all can you Joan, well at least I can`t. All the best Joan. Vic.
Hi Konstantina. thank you very much for your nice comment. I am going to have another go at this one, but on a much smaller canvas. See how I gat on. All the best Konstantina. Vic.
This is a lovely Yorkshire scene Vic, and your sheep are immediately recognisable as such. Unless you're going to try photo-realism you don't need to practice them any more. Lovely painting!! All the best
Hi John. Thank you John for your lovely comment. It made me feel much better about the painting. I have four paintings in an exhibition on Wednesday for two weeks, wish me luck mate. all the best John. Vic.
I started painting around 1990 and loved it straight away.
I started with watercolour, and then after about 15 years I moved to Oils and acrylics. I still paint the odd watercolour to keep my hand in so to speak. I love impressionism. The only time I use detail is when I paint portraits. Otherwise it is my interpretation of the subject.
I am retired but still find it hard to find time to paint. I reckon I can manage to do a painting about three times a week.
Originally I was a Motor Mechanic. Then, for the eighteen years leading up to my retirement, I worked
for Barclays bank.
You live in the most beautiful area!!
