Cowl`s at yalding are at the top of this building. They let the heat from the drying of Hops out through them. We went over to a place called Yalding some weeks ago to do some plein air painting. After doing our paintings we had a walk round to see if their were any other subjects of interest. We saw this House which at one time was a Kiln. It dryed hops, and the heat of the drying escaped through the Cowl`s at the top of the building.

  2. Hi Hilda.
Thank you very much for your nice comment my friend. It was a great day out with my mate Harry. Although I went there several times years ago, it had changed drastically, but still a lovely place to paint. All the best Hilda.

  3. A brilliant painting Vic. Love the juxtaposition of warm reds with those superb greens. You've got the water nailled spot on. Strikes me the best way to view this picture is to recline with a big jug of dark, foaming ale!!!!!
