Willy Lotts Cottage 1. 12x17, Oils on Board.

This is the second time I have painted this subject. I love it so much. The first time I painted it, I did post it, and told the story behind it, But I will briefly tell again. As Constable Fans know only too well that Willy Lott was a close friend of Constable, and he was an Artist as well. he gave Constable lessons in his early days as an Artist. This cottage was Willy Lotts Home, which was in the grounds of Golding Constable`s Mill. Golding was Constables Father. That little window facing the water is where I stayed for a week on a painting course. It was a brilliant tme for me, and holds good memories. They still hold courses there, and I would recommend a week there to anybody.

  2. Hi Vic,
I remember the one you painted before, I Think this one came much closer to your ideal. I really like it, specially like the story that came with it and the little windows with a great view!

  5. Hi Vic,

Such wonderful memories and a equally wonderful painting my friend. It's a great way to spend a snowy day. Painting scenes from a warmer time. Have you been able to dig out yet? You and Rosemary stay warm. All the best to you.

Thank you very much for your great comment my friend. I never forget the week I had there. In the evenings, I think it was in March, We all sat around a massif great Fire, chatting about the days painting and bits and pieces of our lives. You haven`t posted lately Joan. Nor has Mariano. All the best Joan.

  7. A very recognisable subject Vic. I like the rich colours of the roof and trees. It must have been very inspirational staying in a place with so many associations.

  9. Hi Vic,

The painting is all the more beautiful because of the memories you have of that time. What a tranquil setting, you must have found inspiration painting there. I love the colors of your trees, and the reflection of the water. The cottage is so inviting.

    Wonderful work Vic,
