I did these Quick Watercolour studies at our club instead of sketching people for a change.

  1. Very nice Victor! Do you use watercolor pencils or something like that? Or tubes with a plein air set up? These look very spontaneous; I love that.

  2. Hi Linda.
I use a watercolour box made by Craig Young. Every box he makes is numbered and my No` is 178 I think off hand. They are individually made to order. Very expencive though. It`s a beautiful piece of workmanship. I buy tubes of paint and put the colours in as I want them. Pure watercolour. I don`t draw the subject, I go strait in with the paint. It`s a brilliant feeling. I have only just started Watercolour painting again recently. Thanks for your comment Linda. All the best.

  4. They're all gorgeous. Love the feeling of a summer's day in the top one. Many a time I've sat on a park bench and felt the same rays :)
In the lower two, I'm admiring your use of greens, Really good. xx

  6. Hi Michael.
Glad to see you back my friend. Thanks for your nice comment. Yes, I have a Craig Young box. No`178. specifically made for me. Well, he does that for all really. It`s usually about four Months to wait. It was when I bought mine. Expencive though. I will take a photo of it and send it to you, Not the box silly :0, a photo. I certainly won`t neglect my Acrylics Michael, I love them too much to do that. Are you back with us for good now? All the best Michael.

  7. Hi Pat.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. The top one is my favourite, probably because it is vertually a finished painting. I will have`to do it in Acrylics I think. Thanks again Pat, and all the best.

  10. These are lovely sketches Vic - something I'd like to try and do more of when time permits. I confess to having not heard of the Craig Young boxes so I looked them up. If I had one (fat chance) I wouldn't want to get paint all over it. :)

  11. Hi John.
I`m glad that you like them mate. I do enjoy doing these little sketches I must say. Just messing about with Watercolours is basiclly all I do and not make a big completed painting. I did at one time long ago.
Yes that box of mine is gorgeous, I don`t like getting it dirty either. I always make sure I clean up after each painting. All the best John.

  12. Hi Vic,

Love your watercolor sketches and so happy you have started painting in watercolor as well. It's great fun switching back and forth wc to acrylic. I have also check out the Craig Young boxes and oh my, way out of my price range, but you know, when I think of all the money I spend on items that aren't really needed I just might save my pennies.

Take care my friend and keep these lovely studies and painting coming.

    all the best to you
    Joan

  13. Hi Joan my friend.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and support.
Yes I do love playing about with Watercolour, making small sketches. I go strait in with plenty of water and colour. I love the feel of it. But I don`t know whether I shale go back to making a large Watercolour painting. As I mentioned before, It`s too much agro making the frames. It`s fine if one can get a framer to do this, but they charge too much. All the best Joan.

Wow! These are beautiful sketches. I love the one with the two people sitting under the tree. They are so natural. Great work.
