Oast`s at Chiddingstone was created from a pencil sketch that I did years ago. I changed it a lot to the sketch. I have added a couple of figures. The Lady is taking a photo of the oast`s, and her Husband is looking on.
Hi Hilda. Thank very much for your nice comment. I can still remember doing the pencil sketch all that time ago. As I said the people were not there, but i do like painting figures so i added them, and glad i did. All the best Hilda. Vic.
Hi Sue. Thank you Sue for your nice comment. This is a nice area to paint. Just back up the road is another oast. But much bigger. It has about four towers (Oast`s) I think. I will be going there again soon I hope. All the best Sue. Vic.
I started painting around 1990 and loved it straight away.
I started with watercolour, and then after about 15 years I moved to Oils and acrylics. I still paint the odd watercolour to keep my hand in so to speak. I love impressionism. The only time I use detail is when I paint portraits. Otherwise it is my interpretation of the subject.
I am retired but still find it hard to find time to paint. I reckon I can manage to do a painting about three times a week.
Originally I was a Motor Mechanic. Then, for the eighteen years leading up to my retirement, I worked
for Barclays bank.
I like everything about this painting, Vic!...vivid colors, wonderful greens and perfect shadow work!
ReplyDeleteI really like this Vic. It's a delightful scene but the inclusion of the people really adds interest and brings it alive. Very nice indeed.
