Packhorse Bridge 2. 12x17" oils on board

This is a beautiful spot. Further up the hill is a little shack that sells light refreshments and drinks. You need refreshments after walking all this way from the main road to the top. But we cheated, we had our Car. I shale be painting another packhorse bridge that is at the very top. There is several Buildings up there, so I shale be painting a couple of those as well. Obviously, we couldn`t drive over this bridge, they were only built for Packhorses. There is a dirt road that you can use.

  4. Hi Laura.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment, and for mentioning Cuno Amiet along with it. What a painter that man was eh? I loved his painting--Woman in Garden. A bit of Van Gogh there eh? Thank you again for that mention Laura, and all the best to you.

  5. Hi Vic,

This is a wonderful painting. I especially like the figure of the gent walking it adds life into the landscape. My husband is always telling me to add people in my landscapes.

Your various shades of green are excellent. Well done my friend. I'll be looking forward to your next packhorse bridge. All the best to you.

  7. Hi Vic,

The countryside that you paint looks beautiful especially spotted with these charming stone bridges. The gait of the figure is so natural and I like the feel of the openess of the painting. Well done.

  9. Thank you very much Sue for your welcome comment. It`s a coincidence that you mention that figure, ( Joan mentioned it as well ) because my eldest Son doesn`t like anything in a landscape, not even Birds. he likes to feel that he is in the countryside all by himself with only his wife with him. Your Animal paintings and drawings are lovely Sue, but I am still waiting for your landscapes. All the best.
    Vic.
