Packhorse Bridge with Figure. 12x17, oils on board.
This is an update of my painting- Packhorse bridge 4. I have added a figure to it. Two of my followers made a suggestion, one said that it is fine without it, and the other said the same, but try adding a figure. I decided to see what it would look like with a figure. I can soon erase it if necessary.

I like the inclusion; now it's down to you to decide. I think usually figures add interest if they are doing something pertinent.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sally. I think I prefer to see figures in a landscape. I usually put some Birds in also, but left them out this time. Thank you again Sally and all the best.

Hi Vic,
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can't be much help here. I like them both, with or without the figure. I love the naturalness of your figures, very unimposing but yet part of the painting. The painting without the figure is a trip back in time, a quiet beautiful place. Wonderful!
Thank you Sue for your helpful comment. I think I will leave both in to see if I can get other Artist`s opinion. Apart from yourself, I have received an opinion from Joan and Sally, which is a great help. The more the better. It is always great to hear from other Artist`s isn`t it? All the best Sue.

Hi Vic,
ReplyDeleteI don't know, they are both wonderful. The added figure does add human interest, and you really paint figures really good. So I think maybe you should leave the figure. Sorry Vic Jr., In the end it's your decision to make Vic, either way, they are both excellent. Have a great weekend.
Thank you very much my friend. The urge to put a figure in was too great. All the best Joan.

ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your nice comment Nancy.
ReplyDeleteI do like having figures in a landscape. All the best.
