Limpsfield 1and2. 9x12 oils on board.
The second painting was done completely plein air. The first one was started plein air but mainly completed at Home. As I was doing the second painting a load of children came by with their Teachers. Then the conversations went on and on for ages. The teachers were asking me technical questions, and the children, well I don`t know what they were asking except that they liked the painting. As they left, they all clapped me. It really gave me a big lift. I am not happy with this one but left it as it was. The first one was started plein air but mainly completed at Home. The sky was completely flat and gey as the painting depicts.

Hi Vic,
ReplyDeleteboth very nice oils, and a great desciption of the school kids encounter. Well done
Thank you my friend. I don`t know if you have ever experienced about 20 school Children looking and talking about your painting, but it is a strange experience. Almost knocking the Easel over as well. But it was brilliant. I hope you and family are fine Mariano. I will email you as soon as possible so that we can have a chat like old times eh? All the best.
ReplyDeleteVic.
Hi Vic,
ReplyDeleteOh yes my friend I like both oils. I agree with Mariano, well done. How great was it that the children came along. You may have inspired a young one to go home and paint.
I really like the way you depicted the greyness of the sky in the first one. And the second one that you completed plein air, is amazing. So happy you are back in the saddle again. Happy painting to you my friend.
Joan
Hi Joan my friend.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them both. I wasn`t too sure of the second one in the post. But it was great that the children and the Teachers liked it. That gave me a lift I must say. I hope you are back to good health again Joan. What was the problem a bad cold? I loved your Landscape with the figures. I have left a comment for it. I`m about to look at your latest posting now. It has just come up on my Blog. All the best my friend.
Vic.
Excellent paintings Victor. Love the colors in the first one. Makes me want to paint with oils. I bought a set a few months ago but I'm a bit scared to start. Love the brushstrokes on the trees in the second painting....
ReplyDeleteHi Hilda.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comment. I did enjoy that day out. I would love to plein air at least once a week. All the best Hilda.
