Snow Scene from a photograph. I can`t for the life of me complete a painting at Plein Air. I always (except on two occashions) have`to complete it in my studio. I would have loved to have painted this on site. But I am too chicken to stand the cold.

I`m glad you like it. Thank you for your comment. Even with a thick coat, I still wouldn`t want to go out to this sort of weather. All the best Ann.

  3. Dear Vic,

You have captured the cold atmosphere of the day, Vic my friend it is truly Brilliant. Masterful handling of the tones and color. The shadows cast by the tree and the brilliant glimmer of the cold snow. I could look at this one for hours, this may be my favorite. Well done.

    All the best to you,
    Joan

  4. Very realistic, Vic! I give you credit for painting plein air! I don't like the cold and I would take a photo as well, and finish it in the studio. This is so beautifully painted..another winner!

  5. Lovely painting Vic, I can't help wondering what lies at the end of that pathway.
Don't let the cold stop you doing anything - just wrap up well!

  6. hi Joan.
Your favourite eh? great my friend. I`m glad that you like it joan, I certainly enjoyed painting it. There is one of my favourite blogers who paints mainly plein air ( Lucky Girl ). Her name is HEIDEE-JO-SUMMERS. I love her work. We had some snow the other day and she went out a did a snow painting using her Umbrella to keep the snow off of her. She is certainly a brave young lady. All the best Joan.

  15. You don't need to go out, this painting does proofs it more then enough that you don't. On the other hand if your close to a pub or cafee you could warm up so now and then with a warm choco or here in Holland with a warm bowl of 'erwtensoep' (peasoup)
