Mannon at Pin Mill. 9x12 oils on board.

I have painted this subject before, but I really fancied painting it again. I painted it today, Ala Prima, Wet into Wet. It`s a plein air method. It won`t allow you to do much detail.

  2. Hi Vic,

What a great painting. I love the fact it is wet into wet. My friend you are excelling in leaps and bounds. I just read your email, good news, I have the Gamblin paints. Kevin MacPherson an artist in New Mexico did a pbs show. Passport and Palette. Those are the same paints he uses.

All the best to you: I am starting my day of painting now.

Thank you my friend for your lovely comment. Gamblin paints seem to be one of the best makes. dearer of course but worth it. I will need to find where I can get mine from, in England if possible. All the best Joan.

  11. Yeo, Vic..! A beauty !
Nice perspective in the foreground, settles the middleground in beautifully.
Yes, and a plein air sky to be envious for! ..Powerful,yet not menacing or intimidating.
Love the warmth of the "pink glow" on your stained panel showing through.
Of course, this is just MHO... :)

Have a great painting day !
