Narrow Boat. 9x12, oils on board.

These Boats are called Narrow or Canal Boats. They are probably called narrow boats because they negotiate very narrow waterways such as places like the norfolk broads for one. Peop;e hire them for their holidays

  1. Good Morning to you. Vic this painting is lovely. You did an amazing job on the reflections. I love the pink of the boat, all the colors compliment your focal point of the Canal boat. Thank you for the tidbit of the Narrow boat. I always learn so much from your blog my friend.

    Have a wonderful day.

Thank you very much for your lovely comment. I can always rely on you for a good one. I`ve always wanted to try this sort of holiday out, but never got around to it, never mind. Some people use these also for their homes along the thames. Some use them for Studios. brilliant eh my friend? All the best Joan.

  3. Vic, this is really nice too. I agree with Joan--the reflections are well done. It would be fun to do a little trip on a canal boat. You'd have to love your company though.

  4. Your color sense in this painting is absolutely beautiful. You always convey a sense of deep space so convincingly. The two tall trees to the left of the boat add a nice balance. I love the yellow green tree which compliments the pink in the boat. Very nice!!

  7. What a lovely scene Vic. The reflections in the water are outstanding. Your trees are always done so well. They make a wonderful backdrop for the interesting canal boat.
