Margaret, John and Bill at Rye. 9x12 oils on board.
Margaret, John and Bill was painted from a photo that I took whilst having a rainy day out painting at Rye. This is the day that I dislocated my shoulder, silly me eh? That is my pochade at the bottom in the right hand corner. When I was painting, I had an umbrella for shelter. The rest of the mob had that tree for shelter. This scene is showing a break in the weather.

What a lovely memory of a day out with your painting friends, Vic. Poor you with your shoulder, I hope it's better now. Beautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteHi Vic,
ReplyDeleteAnother winner my friend. Love the way you paint figures into your painting. Sorry to hear about your shoulder, I do hope you are okay. Take care.

Hi Michael.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the painting. It was a strange day at the time. It was raining and of course That terrible fall that I had. The Ambulance arrived in no time though, and whisked me off to Hastings Hospital. They were brilliant there as were the ambulance driver and mate. Rosemary rang our son inlaw and they picked me up at eleven pm that day. Never forget that day out mate. All the best Michael.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Vic.! This painting is wonderful...love the greens !!
ReplyDeleteHey there Vic!... The painting shoulder sure doesn't show any sign of distress in this one!
ReplyDeleteYou surely captured the day... and "bumped up the mood" with your sunny interpretation!
This one has a strong Sargent or Renoir feel to it! How much better can that be in the form of a compliment? Well-deserved!
Good Painting!... Happy Healing... and Happy Summer Vic!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
