  3. It looks good to me Vic and very accomplished. You should do more watercolours.

Maybe the gap to the left of the fence could have been a bit smaller. I find it a bit distracting, but it's not a big problem.

  4. I love it Vic - the sky, the foreground, the distant hills, the boat and fence. Do you still do watercolours? You certainly have a flair for it! All the best, my friend. Michael

  5. I love the composition and the crisp darks in the foreground contrasted against the pale vast space--great perspective. Also love the way you painted the cloudy sky--it's very delicate yet has a lot of visual interest. It's a good one . . . you should feel confident about having it in the exhibit!

  8. Hi Victor, you are just as talented in your watercolours as you are in your oils. This painting is full of interest, but yet in a soft and delicate tone. The birds are a wonderful addition to the composition.

  9. My dear friend, all I can say about this one is Edward Seago. Vic, Edward Seago is one of the great masters and I absolutely love this painting.Composition, Great, colors great, tones great. You should get best in show for this one. Best of luck. Please do more watercolor paintings.

    All the best to you,

  10. Hi Vic,
a lovely painting of sails, and fishing nets drying in the wind/breeze , a very credible image on the Beautiful sky. Good luck on the exibition. I feel the sky space is too vast in relation to the foreground. Empty space versus fill space is a subjective matter and I may as well be wrong.

  13. Morning Michael.
Thank you very much for that nice comment my friend. As I said this painting was done around 12yrs ago, and just after that I went over to Acrylics and then oils. I really haven`t tried Watercolours since. I keep telling myself I should. But I always found it a bore with mounting it and then making the frames, and then sometimes cutting the Glass for it. Thank you Michael and all the best.

  17. Hi Joan.
I`m glad you like it my friend. As I have said it is one that I did about 12 years ago. I think it would take me some time to do another as good. I have got some paper ready to have a go again, hopefully tomorrow. Edward Seago eh? That is a great comliment Joan, thank you. He is one of my favourites as well. One of my Art friends has got a Seago, his lady friend bought it for him, £18.000 it cost. Lucky him eh? Thank you again my friend and all the best.

  21. This painting caught my attention right away Victor. It's very different from what you're doing now. I like the thin line of a highly detailed landscape played against the vast sky. I also like the dark against the light. It has an antique look to it--like it came from a leather bound antique book. Be proud.

  22. Hi Linda.
Thank you very much for your lovely detailed comment. Yes it is different to the way I paint now. I have not painted in Watercolour for a long time now, and I don`t know if I have improved or not. I will have`to wait until I do another Watercolour to find out. Thank you again my friend and all the best.

  23. This is a very nice painting and I like the way you've set the horizon very low to give a big sky. I found your blog from Michael's and I'm looking forward to coming back often. Good luck with the exhibition.

  24. It would be difficult to find something more to say than has been said already.
But...the sky is very beautiful. I especially like the way that you brought the horizon line very low in the painting with that gorgeous atmospheric sky above. You have great talent, Vic. I wish you the best in the exhibit!

  25. Hi John.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. As I have said it is some tome ago that I did this painting and I don`t know if I am going backwards in my Art or not. But I do love applying Watercolour. The feel of the lovely soft Brush and colour is brilliant. So I shale get back to it soon. Thanks again John and all the best.

  28. Hi Jane.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment. You are never too late to send a nice comment. As I have said above, I painted this one 12 years ago. And I have only just started back on Watercolours. But I much prefer Acrylics. They dry just right for me. Thank you again Jane and all the best.
