Silver Birches. 6x8, Oils on board.

I went out and did this painting yesterday morning. It was a fantastic day for painting plein air. I only had an hour or so to do this, but I managed it in that time.
Where I was sitting with my little 6x8 Pochade, there is a pond, one of three in that area, and there were a lot of chaps fishing. I took some photos of some of them and will probably do some paintings of them, after cropping and the rest as one does.

Summer Tanager. 6x8, Oils on board.

Summer Tanager is from the South East of the United States and other parts. I would like to say that I went out there yesterday, spotted this chap, did a quick painting of him, and arrived back Home ( Kent England ) within 30 mins`.

As you know, it`s from a photograph.

Harry 1. 12x17, Oils on board.

This is a portrait of my painting mate and fellow club member. I did it from a couple of sketches and a photograph. I did all the basics from the sketches, then completed it from the photograph. His Eyebrows are really like that - possibly a bit wilder.

Golden Eagle. 6x8 oils on board.

He was looking at me from one eye, seeming to say "you dare paint me!" So it was a good job I had a photograph of him eh?.

Swan, 1. 9x12, Oils on board.

This swan is from a Photo of mine that I took

a couple of weeks ago. The water is made up

because I didn`t like the shape and tone of

the water that it was in.

Thames Barge 2. 9x12, Oils on board.

This is a Thames barge on the Norfolk Broads.

I think this painting is the most impressionistic

one that I have done, and I`m pleased with it.

This area is a very flat and open place. Hence,

there isn`t anything else in sight.

Thames Barge 3.12x17, Oils on board.

I did this painting some time ago. It`s of a

Thames Barge beached on the sand for

some reason or another. This was done

mainly from imagination and what I

had seen in the past.
