Summer Tanager. 6x8, Oils on board.

Summer Tanager is from the South East of the United States and other parts. I would like to say that I went out there yesterday, spotted this chap, did a quick painting of him, and arrived back Home ( Kent England ) within 30 mins`.

As you know, it`s from a photograph.

  1. Vic, love the composition as well as the colors. Well done. Noticed you lost your followers as did I, and other bloggers. Don't know what is going on, if you find out, let me know. Happy painting my friend.

  3. Hi Joan. Thank you very much for your comment.
I have just this minute got my Followers back.
I`m afraid I don`t know what happened, The trouble obviously was with Google. Another Blogger was complaining about not being able to
delete an unwanted blogger, and was asking anybody that knew the answer to let her know.
I only wished I knew the answer. Thanks again Joan, and all the best my friend.

  5. LOL!! I live in the South Eastern US... so if you do hop over to paint the local wildlife... pop in for tea! Nice job on the painting.

  6. Thank you Teresa. Chance would be a fine thing.
Thank you for your invite. I would love to see
all my Artist friends, but my days of travelling
are over I`m afraid. Come this 22/10, I shale be
the right old age of 80yrs, and I am still going strong. I`m glad you like my Summer Tanager. All the best Teresa, and thanks again.

Thanks so much for your kind comments on my art. I have so enjoyed looking at yours here and have added you to my blog list. Looking at your Thames piece reminded me of the beauty of things done from memory. It is infused with beauty and emotion--things the heart knows but sometimes the eye misses. Your work is truly beautiful--glad you found me so I could find you!

  8. Thank you very much Dreama for your lovely
comment. Coming from a brilliant Artist as yourself, is an added bonus. Thank you also for adding me to your list. You hit the emotion in
Art right on the nail, so to speak. I get very
emotional with painting. Thank you again Dreama.
    All the best.

  10. Hello Victor,
really really sweet painting. Love the painterly feel of it. Doesn't feel like you "copied" a photograph but just used it as a reference to remember the moment. Thanks for sharing the vision

  11. Thank you very much Susan. Yes, you are right in
saying that I used the photo as a reference for
this painting. Photo or not, we always end up
doing our own thing don`t we? I`m about to look
at your Blog now, so thank you again Susan, and
    all the best.
