Thank you very much Pam. When you say, you don`t know how I do the whites, do you mean the highlites in the water? is so, it`s a lighter version of the main colour of the Water. Titanium White with Ultra`. Or, if you mean the white of the sails, then it is a minute touch of Yellow ochre to titanium White. Thanks again Pam and all the best. Vic.
Vic this is another winner. Well done my friend. I love the foamy whites of the water to show the motion and speed of the boat. I have always admired the way you paint water. Your figures are great and shows exactly what the title suggest, speed. Really, really great! I'm waiting for the grandkids for an overnight this weekend. All the best to you.
Thank you my friend. You haven`t posted anything since your flower painting. Come on now Joan, let`s be having you, as the saying goes. I`m about to check on your blog, so you might have posted. All the best Joan, and have a nice weekend with the little ones. Vic.
Thank you for your nice comment Nancy. At the moment I`m trying to paint trees in a Fog. It is so difficult. I have got the tones right but it is still wrong. I think I will go over it and start again. Thanks again Nancy and all the best. Vic.
I agree with Joan, another winner. I love the light on the sail, and the water. The way the figures lean, tells you they are giving the race their all. Beautiful Vic!
Hi Sue. Thank you for your lovely comment. At the moment I am trying to do something different, subject wise that is. Trees in Fog, or In a pea Soup we use`to call it when I was a young Lad. It means a thick fog. I`ve had one go at it but had`to wipe it off. Going to have another go today, after a cup of coffee that is. All the best Sue. Vic. P.S. I`ve just left a comment on your blog for your latest.
I love this one especially. How did you get this image? You must have been racing in the boat right behind the one you painted? In which case, your skipper was madly trying to catch up, and probably irritated with you for being an artist first, and a sailor second! (I used to race with my dad on occasion, and when the race was tight, my mild-mannered father would turn into a crazed competitor, let me tell you...) Love the painting. Thanks for sharing it!
Hi Katherine. Thank you for looking up my Blog. I`m sorry to disappoint you but this painting wasn`t done plein air. It was painted from one of my many photos. Even when I do paint plein air, I seem to always have`to complete it at Home, or do a painting from the plein air one because I am not happy with it. Hopefully I will be going out tomorrow to paint. I am about to look up you blog. Thanks again Katherine, and all the best. Vic.
Not living near large masses of water, I haven't done a lot of water paintings. I am so impressed, this is great! Don't know how you do the whites.
