Well Woods. 10x12, Oils on Board

Another Palette knife job. It is in a local woods called "Well Woods" The reason for calling it that name is, I think, because at one time there was an actual well in there. Don`t quote me on that.

Tying up for the night. 12"x17", Oils on board

This is one of my older paintings. I haven`t had the chance to complete one for the last week. It is from a photo that I took when in Devon on holiday. These chaps were tying the boat up for the night.

Silver Birches 2. 9x12 Oils on board.

This painting was done entirely with a palette knife. It is my first attempt at this type of painting and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it. I liked the outcome butam a little concerned what other Artist`s will make of it. My wife Rosemary said she thinks it is a decent painting but didn`t like it. Oh! well, you can`t win them all can you?

Sansego. "17.5"x14" Oils on stretched Canvas.

This painting is from a photo that my friend Mariano sent me, and gave me permission to use it. He did his version of it, and if you look at his version ( you can click on his blog from my Blog ), it will prove without any doubt that no two Artist`s will paint the same subject anywhere near like one another.

I have been off the air for a whole week because I had lost my broadband connection. It was fixed this afternoon.

Portrait of an Artist. 9x12, Oils on board.

This portrait is of an Artist friend of mine. He is a realist painter, and a brilliant one. Years ago I had a few lessons from him but, although he taught me how to lay a wash and that sort of thing, none of his style rubbed off on to me I`m afraid.

Seal, somebody is chasing me. 6x8 Oils on board.

This seal looks like he is swimming away fast from something - to me anyway. He looks worried don`t you think?

Oasts at Chiddingstone, Kent. 12x17 oils on board.

Oasts at Chiddingstone was painted some time ago. It is a lovely oldie England area that I have been to several times. Oasts, in case some of you don`t know, are for drying hops before making the beer from them. I don`t know the technicalities -
only that they dry the hops, sorry.

Young Robin. 6x8, oils on board.

I thought I would post this Robin to give you all a laugh. He certainly made me laugh. From a photograph of course. Honest, he really looks like this.
