This is one of my older paintings. I haven`t had the chance to complete one for the last week. It is from a photo that I took when in Devon on holiday. These chaps were tying the boat up for the night.
Hi Vic, I feel as though I am standing there on the dock watching these gentlemen. You have certainly captured the scene. Once a again another painting well done. Can't wait to see whats next. Please join face book. Share your work with the rest of the world. You don't have to be a slave to it. Vic there are so many artist and collectors. Give it a thought. I feel the same as you, don't want to spend my life on the computer, would much rather paint. Well anyway, have a great day.
Joan, thank you so much for that wonderful comment. I couldn`t be praised any more than that, thank you. Well Joan, I certainly will think about facebook now, especially after what you say about it. I will be going out tomorrow, over to a lovely place called Chevening. It`s got a lovely old Church and Houses that are inviting all Artist`s to paint it. I shale have`to go by myself because my mate who useually comes with me is going out with his Family. All the best my friend and thank you again. Vic.
This is lovely painting. It's interesting to see the differences in your paintings depending on whether you use a brush or a palette knife. I really like both. You have versatility.... what a great quality!
Thank you Teresa. Another lovely comment, I don`t deserve it. Good old Devon for lovely subjects eh? We might be going back there again next year, If not it will be Yorkshire. All the best teresa. Vic.
I started painting around 1990 and loved it straight away.
I started with watercolour, and then after about 15 years I moved to Oils and acrylics. I still paint the odd watercolour to keep my hand in so to speak. I love impressionism. The only time I use detail is when I paint portraits. Otherwise it is my interpretation of the subject.
I am retired but still find it hard to find time to paint. I reckon I can manage to do a painting about three times a week.
Originally I was a Motor Mechanic. Then, for the eighteen years leading up to my retirement, I worked
for Barclays bank.
