Portrait of an Artist. 9x12, Oils on board.

This portrait is of an Artist friend of mine. He is a realist painter, and a brilliant one. Years ago I had a few lessons from him but, although he taught me how to lay a wash and that sort of thing, none of his style rubbed off on to me I`m afraid.

  1. Hi Vic,

I think this a wonderful portrait. It's got all the elements, design, color, application etc. I do hope you enter this one in a show.
    All the best.

  2. Thanks Joan. This Artist has always wanted to loosen up with his work, but hasn`t achieved it yet. I haven`t got the confidence to push my paintings Joan. I do enter our clubs exhibitions though. I have just sold a 12x17
seascape, which pleased me of course. I hope everything is okay with you and your family.
    All the best my friend.
    Vic.

  4. Yes Teresa, his dress does remind me of the past, the good old days. I remember them well,
but you are too young to remember the 40s and 50s. That is when you could leave your bike
outside and it was still there in the morning.
Also the front door key on a piece of string
through the letter box. All the best Teresa.
    Vic.
