Cockerel

I did this painting entirely with a palette knife. There is so much paint there that it is going to take ages to dry.

  1. Thank you very much Laura. I don`t know if you have used a palette knife, but I find it difficult to get any real detail. All the best laura.

  2. Hi Vic,

I really love this one. The subject matter is wonderful and you have captured the gesture of this proud cockerel. Great color and tones. Well done my friend. Tomorrow our group is going to a farm. I will be looking for some chicks, roosters and cows. All the best to you.

  5. Hi Joan.
Thank you my friend. I hope you enjoy your trip out tomorrow. Bring home some good sketches Joan. I went out last Wednesday and did an Oil sketch of a local pub. When I have completed my present painting, I shale paint a bigger one from the Sketch, I hope. All the best Joan.

  6. Hi Janice.
Thank you for your comment. Thank you for saying that it is worth waiting for it to dry. I should think it will take at least two weeks. No problem though, I`m not going anywhere. All the best janice.

  9. Hi Sue.
Thank you for your comment. I have found that it is very hard to get a decent likeness of an Animal. Have you ever used a palette knife? Thanks again Sue and all the best.

  12. Hi Sue.
When you do try the palette knife, don`t put the paint on too thick. I make the mistake of doing that. All the best Sue.
