The Train Leaving Plat` 8x6 oils on board

I just love painting figures. This one-- The Train leaving Plat` was painted in-between doing my course. I had`to have a break from the way my tutor doese things.Brilliant Artist and Tuter that he is. I wanted to do my own thing, but I am learning how to mix different colours and enjoying the lessons.

  2. Hi Joan.
Thank you my friend. that is a lovely pat on the back for me ( again ) from you. This course i`m doing Joan, is very interesting, and I am learning something from It. I am thinking of using black in my palette and Lemon Yellow now. and different combinations. Thanks again Joan and all the best.

  4. Hi Janice.
Thank you for your great comment. I do try to put some life into my figures, after all, they are alive and supposed to be moving eh? Thanks again Janice, and all the best.

  5. The gesture in this figure is beautifully rendered. Your color palette is lush and easy to look at. Do you work from photos? Do you ask to take a photo or just snap when no one is looking. I would love to work from people but I am unsure how to approach this.

  6. Thank you Linda. I did the figure from one of my many photos I have taken over the years. It`s strange that you mentioned my palette, because I am not happy with it at all. I want to create more colour and I can`t seem to get them from the colours I have. Obviously I try to take my photos discreetly, and as they are moving if possible. I have tried to sketch them but they are too quick for me to copy the sketch
for a painting. I know some clever Artist`s can do this, but I can`t. All the best Linda.
